Choice of length and CARVER trucks, advice from WMCV, carver specialist since 2009:

The C7 truck (the most well-known) with its spring system allows you to generate a lot of speed even when flat. It is very versatile and will be slightly more stable and pleasant compared to the CX when cruising and at a fairly high speed in fast bowls for example.

The latest version of the CX is even more responsive than the C7 and offers a slightly more responsive ride and speed on the carve, reproducing more of a surf on the rail for experts. It will be slightly better suited than the C7 for working on low-speed curves like carves, cutbacks, etc., so CX = a slightly more technical ride.

The two truck models remain similar in feel, both excellent for having fun on days without waves and progressing in surfing.

Regarding the size of the boards, as in surfing, a shorter board will be a little more reactive and a longer one will require larger movements and give a greater feeling of inertia.

A very short board will force you to adopt a shorter stance (feet spread), which can be seen as a disadvantage or an advantage for progressing your surfing style. Happy riding!
